Mildred Mundy

A native of Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lincoln and Lillie Bracknell Harper. She was the widow of W. Thomas Mundy, Jr. and was predeceased by a brother, Charles Edward Harper; two sisters, Janie Belle Harper and Gertrude Harper Wells; and a nephew, Thomas Nicholls Wells, Jr.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Lee Road United Methodist Church, Taylors, South Carolina, where she faithfully served on the Board of Trustees, as a member of the Membership Care Committee, as Church Historian, and on the Administrative Board. She was also a member of the D.W. Smith Sunday School Class. For the last 22 years, she was a seasonal resident of Palm Bay, Florida, where she attended Covenant Presbyterian Church with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons.She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Lander College.Surviving are her loving daughter, Margaret Anne Frye of Palm Bay, Florida; a devoted son-in-law, Howard Warner Frye III; and three beloved grandsons, Howard Warner Frye IV, Thomas Carter Frye, and Michael Cameron Frye, all of Palm Bay, Florida. She is also survived by nieces June Harper McAbee (Tom), Jo Harper Webb (Wallace), Kae Harper Childs, Pat Harper White; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.Memorials in memory of Mildred may be made to Lee Road United Methodist Church, 1377 East Lee Road, Taylors, SC, 29687.Services are 2 p.m. Saturday July 15, 2017 at Main Street United Methodist Church, Abbeville, South Carolina, with Reverend James O. “Jim” Gilliam officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Sharon Cemetery, Sharon United Methodist Church, Abbeville, South Carolina. Visitation is 12:45-1:45 p.m. in the Main Street United Methodist Church Sanctuary prior to the funeral service.
